While not the best on the market, you can do decent work with one. I see many folks concerned about having to spend $1000's on woodworking tools but you can find one of these online for around 300-400 bucks pretty often. It was built in the 80's and is easy to work on. I was given this machine from a good friend. Lastly, this was made on a Shopsmith 5 in 1 machine. 75 thickness lumber so you only have to worry about length and width. I bought rough-hewn lumber and milled it to size.
